Lutton Law Office, LLC seeks a full-time Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our small firm located in the vibrant and growing town of Ashland, NE. Candidates must be detail-oriented, organized and able to communicate effectively and accurately and willing to support multiple attorneys with various time-sensitive tasks. Our firm offers candidates a small-town environment and the ability to work hands-on with challenging, but rewarding matters.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support to up to four attorneys in various areas of law including: real estate, estate planning, probate, entity formation and contract review, tax and family law.
- Preparation/revision and filing of correspondence, pleadings, documents and more as directed;
- Research statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources;
- Handle routine correspondence and maintain telephone contact with clients;
- Organize and maintain electronic and paper filing;
- Consult with the supervising attorney(s) whenever a legal judgment, legal opinion or legal advice is necessary;
- Basic accounting and reconciliation;
- Backup support to Receptionist for other administrative and clerical duties; and
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Skills & Abilities
- Ability to communicate professionally in both written and verbal form;
- Ability to work well under deadlines and prioritize assignments;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well in cooperative, small office environment and communicate with attorneys, clients and staff;
- Attention to detail;
- Ability to handle documents and other information with confidentiality and discretion; and
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products, especially Word and Excel.
Qualifications: Education & Experience
- High school (or equivalent) required;
- Preference given to those with a Bachelor’s degree and/or successful completion
- of an accredited legal assistant or paralegal program; and
- Preference given to those with related work experience.
Compensation:
- Salary commensurate with experience and certification.
